Costco Versus Sam's Club: Review

Hi, my name is Elaine Wallace and I recently became a member of both Costco and Sam's Club. Today, I am going to provide a quick outline about both places to help those out there looking to join one of these wholesale / warehouse clubs. Feel free to leave a comment or recommendation below if you favor one over the other. Let me get started by saying both Costo and Sam’s Club have an annual fee that will range from $35 to $50 a year based on the time of year or association deal you find. To start off with the comparison, it should be noted that Sam’s Club has more stores that Costco, so depending on where you live you may only have one option (or even none). After shopping at both places I found that both offer bulk purchasing of food and other home and business items. It was also easy to tell that Costo has far more name brand or high end items than Sam’s Club. It is also well known across the internet that Costco has a top notch wine selection with some bargain basement prices. On the other hand Sam’s Club offers a variety of name brands in the categories of computers and electronics. It should be noted that both clubs carry only top selling brands and items to keep overhead as low as possible. As for price, overall both Costco and Sam’s offered discounts of about 10% if you are willing to buy the available product or buy in bulk. Each club had a variety of in-house branded products that appeared to sell for 10 to 25% less than name brands at retail stores. At Costco look for Kirkland Signature products and at Sam’s Club look for Members Mark products. At this point I am going to keep shopping at both and outline my bigger purchases in the comment section to point you in the right direction.
